Man Drives Drunk With 5-Year-Old Son In Car: SCPD

He was arrested on the street he lives on, police said.

EAST NORTHPORT, NY — An East Northport man was arrested and charged on Saturday after he drove drunk with his 5-year-old son in the car, the Suffolk County Police Department said.

Nonnenmacher, 29, was driving a 2016 Nissan Rogue southbound on Tompkins Street with his son in the car when officers pulled him over at 6:43 p.m., police said. Nonnenmacher was arrested and brought to the police station. His son was released to the custody of a family member, and the Nissan was impounded.

Nonnenmacher, who lives on Tompkins Street, was charged with DWI (prior conviction: felony), aggravated DWI with a child passenger 15-years-old or younger (Leandra's Law), endangering the welfare of a child, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and operating a motor vehicle without a required interlock device. He was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.
