Man Engaged in Sexual Contact With 14-Year-Old Boy in Fort Salonga: Police
The 48-year-old man, who is a registered sex offender, and the teen both had their clothes off in a shopping center parking lot, police say.

FORT SALONGA, NY- A 48-year-old Melville man was arrested early Thursday morning after police say he was caught having “sexual contact” with a 14-year-old boy inside a car in a parking lot in Fort Salonga.
Kieran Bunce, who is a registered Level 1 sex offender, is charged with two felony counts of second degree criminal sex act and first degree endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, police said.
According to police, Bunce and the teen arranged a meeting via a cellphone app. While on routine patrol shortly after midnight Thursday, Fourth Precinct Police Officer Dennis Lynch observed a car parked in a darkened area of the Fort Salonga Shopping Center parking lot located on Route 25A.

As he approached the car, Lynch observed two occupants who had their clothes off inside the vehicle, police said.
After a brief investigation, the officer determined that Bunce, the owner of the vehicle, was in the company of a 14-year-old boy, police said.

Fourth Squad detectives determined that sexual contact did occur between the two, police said.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have knowledge of any others who may have been victimized by Bunch to contact detectives at 631-854-8452, police said.
Bunce is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
