Man Fatally Struck By Car In East Northport
The 35-year-old was using a leaf blower near the shoulder of the road when he was struck, police say.

A man was struck and killed by a car while using a leaf blower near his East Northport home on Wednesday evening, police say.
According to authorities, Richard Oliveri, 35, was operating the leaf blower on the shoulder of Clay Pitts Road, near Cedrus Avenue, when he was struck by a 2014 Jeep Wrangler traveling eastbound at 6:20 p.m.
Oliveri suffered a severe head injury from the crash. The East Nortport Fire Department took him to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the jeep, a 48-year-old East Northport man, remained at the scene and was not injured, police say.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
