Man Robs East Northport Bank

The robbery occurred Thursday afternoon.

Police are looking to identify the man who robbed an East Northport bank Thursday afternoon.

According to authorities, a man entered Chase Bank , located at 17 Huntington Square Mall, verbally announced a robbery and went behind the teller to remove cash from the drawer at 2:37 p.m.

The robber fled on foot in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police described the robber as 30-40 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build, and wearing a black mask, grey hooded-jacket and jeans.

A police officer responding to the robbery was treated for minor injuries at a hospital after his Suffolk County Patrol Vehicle got into a crash with two civilian cars at Veterans Highway and Harned Road, NBC New York reports.
