Motorcyclist Killed In East Northport Crash: Police
The crash took place Saturday night, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — A motorcyclist was killed in an East Northport crash Saturday night, police said.
According to Suffolk County Police, the crash took place at 9:40 p.m. on Jericho Turnpike, 50 feet west of Verleye Avenue.
Gary Skaats, 30, of East Northport, who was driving a 1998 Honda motorcycle and heading west, crashed into a 2012 Honda SUV driven by a Dix Hills man who was attempting to turn left from eastbound Jericho Turnpike into a parking lot, police said.

The Dix Hills man was not injured, police said.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
