Narcan Training Comes to Northport
The Drug and Alcohol Task Force hopes to change the number of opiate overdoses in the area. Young adults are encouraged to attend.

Members of the community can learn how to save a life through a hands-on Narcan Training Workshop on Wednesday that will be hosted by the Northport East Northport Drug and Alcohol Task Force.
Northport East Northport DATF hopes all residents, especially young adults, will attend the workshop.
Young adults between the ages of 18 to 25 are the biggest abusers of opiates and those within this age group are also the most likely to overdose on opiates in the local area, DATF reports.

DATF is looking to change this statistic at the Narcan Training Workshop on Wednesday, June 17 at the Northport Public Library at 7 p.m.
Those who attend will receive the same training that first responders use to help reverse an opioid overdose. At the workshop, residents will become qualified to administer Narcan and will be given an intranasal Narcan kit.
