Northport 4th Of July Fireworks 2020 Canceled
Northport's traditional Fourth of July events may be canceled, but there are several other ways you can celebrate the holiday safely.
NORTHPORT, NY — July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events, including Northport.
Northport typically relies on Asharoken for fireworks every year, as the show is viewable from Crab Meadow Beach or by boat. However, the Village of Asharoken announced its Fourth of July Fireworks Display would be canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19. Asharoken officials said the traditional Fourth of July bonfires can continue, though residents are asked to use extreme caution and common sense.
All bonfires are held on private property, so only Village of Asharoken residents are allowed to host bonfire parties, according to the Village.
