Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Dixie
Dixie, a 3-month-old female kitten, was found curled up on a bookshelf all alone, sick and frightened. She is looking for a loving home.

NORTHPORT, NY — Dixie, a 3-month-old female kitten, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kitten of the Week.
Wilson Tech School in Dix Hills called the cat rescue after finding a kitten curled up on a bookshelf all alone, sick and frightened, according to Lora Wild, a volunteer with the cat rescue. Dixie was treated for an upper respiratory infection at the veterinarian, and she was then sent to foster care for nourishment and love. She thrived, and she was described as a sweet, little firecracker by Wild.
Dixie loves belly rubs, cuddles, and affection, according to Wild. She also loves to play.

"She kept herself entertained for months, playing with her foster mom and toys and looking out the windows," Wild said. "Recently, she was introduced to another foster cat, and is having so much fun with him. She stalks him and once he sees her, she turns around and runs like lightning even though he doesn’t chase her. She is silly, gentle, and adorable. She went from a timid and scared little baby all alone in this world to a confident kitten that will bring joy to any home. We will never know how she found her way into that school, but we are so grateful she did."
Dixie is spayed, has all her shots, is litter box-trained, and micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
