NORTHPORT, NY — Juliana, a 1-year-old cat, was named the Northport Cat Rescue Association's featured pet of the week.

"Sadly, this intelligent beauty has spent her kittenhood with us, and we just cannot understand why," Lora Wild, a volunteer at the rescue, told Patch. "Juliana loves human companionship so much; she will actually come running to greet you at the door and 'talk' to you when she wants your attention."

Juliana is considered silly and very playful with humans. She's also friendly with cats, and even gets along with dogs.

"A snuggle bug, she will curl up in your lap to cuddle and nap," Wild said. "What more can you possibly want from a furry companion? Yet she still waits, never giving up — hoping for a family to call her own."

She is spayed, has all her shots, is litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV Negative.

The rescue is not doing face-to-face meetings with interested families until the coronavirus passes, but it's taking adoption applications to begin the process. Personal information won't be shared, Wild said.

To meet Juliana or any of the association's other kittens and cats, head to its Northport Cat Rescue website and fill out an application to let them know you'd like to meet her or any other cats. You can also fax an application to 631-651-5597 or call NCRA at 631-606-2631.
