Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Julius, Sidney And Bessie
The 12-week-old siblings were found on the side of the road in Brentwood malnourished. They had possibly been shot with a BB gun.

NORTHPORT, NY — Julius, Sidney and Bessie — 12-week-old siblings — are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.
Brothers Sidney and Julius, as well as their sister, Bessie, were found on the side of the road in Brentwood by a resident that called the cat rescue for help, Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue, said. All three cats stuck together despite being scared and malnourished when they were found, Wild said.
"Our director, Don, rushed them to our vet, who gave us the disturbing results," Wild said. "Bessie was found to have a couple of broken bones in her leg, and they also had some buckshot particles seen on an Xray, indicative that they were shot with a BB Gun. We weren’t sure if they would make it or not, but they deserved the chance, so we put them in with one of our loving foster families where they were nursed back to health with antibiotics, caution, and lots of love."

Bessie was described as a lovebug who just wants to cuddle and suckle on a blanket while kneading it with her paws by Wild.
"She is also a toy hog and wants what anyone else is playing with," Wild said. "Bessie was thought to be left with a limp, but she’s a fighter and now when she runs around, you can barely notice it at all. When you see her playing, you can’t help but be amazed by her."

The siblings all love each other, but the boys are bonded the most to each other, according to Wild.
"Perhaps they feel relief that their little sister is safe in the loving arms of kind humans, and now they can finally relax."
Julius loves to snuggle, get bully rubs and purrs like a "lawn mower," Wild said. Sidney, meanwhile, is the shyest of the trio. However, that shyness will not prevent him from jumping into one's lap and ask for a taste of whatever someone is eating.
"These three kittens are not only survivors…they are warriors," Wild wrote. "Tiny in size, hearts the size of lions. Their ability to forget their past and trust humans is heartwarming. They had a fierce will to live and deserve love and safety for the rest of their lives."
They are all spayed and neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, and micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative, according to Wild.
