NORTHPORT, NY — Alexander and Thomas, 4-month-old brothers, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.

"They were born in a home with their mommy by their sides because a kind lady took mommy in when she was pregnant," Lora Wild, a volunteer at the cat rescue, said.

The duo's other brother has been adopted already, but Alexander and Thomas are still waiting for their turn.

"Even though they have been at Doggie Dons in East Northport for a while now, growing up in a cage, they are still both sweet as pie," Wild said. "They love the attention when our volunteers arrive."

Thomas is very playful and energetic, according to Wild. He loves playing with the kitten springs in his cage. He also loves to be pet and is super friendly.

Alexander is a total mush ball. He loves to be taken out of his habitat and held and loved. He is a purring machine and actually cries when he is put back down, Wild said.

"They need to get out of the cage and into a loving home, and we would love to see them be adopted together," she said. "These two will completely steal your heart away and are absolutely adorable."

Both are neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, and micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.

The cat rescue is set to host an adoption event from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Petco Commack, at 30 Veterans Memorial Highway.
