Northport Adoptable Pets Of The Week: Barney, Charlie, Ernie & Dobby

NORTHPORT, NY — Barney, Charlie, Ernie and Dobby, 3-month-old brothers, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.

The brothers were rescued when they were just a few days old, their eyes still closed. They were "alone and helpless," said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue.

"We took them to one of our amazing Foster Moms, who stayed up night and day bottle feeding them around the clock," Wild said. "We were not sure if they would all survive, but as each day passed, they became stronger and grew a little more. Once their eyes opened they were off and running. As each milestone was reached, we all celebrated their accomplishments. Using the litter box, eating kitten food, and playing. Before we knew it, they were all thriving. Now in another wonderful foster home, these 4 brothers are finally ready for adoption."

Barney was the runt of the group and has blossomed into an adorable and handsome tuxedo kitten, according to Wild.

"A strong soul, he is simply amazing."

Dobby loves to give kisses. Ernie will lay on his back in a person's lap while they pet his belly and Charlie is a lovebug with beautiful markings.

"They all start purring the minute you touch them," Wild said. "They snuggle and give kisses when you pick them up. Sit down and they will jump in your lap. Lay down and they will curl up in your neck. They love to play with each other and are just pure joy. This is a very special bunch of babies, and the reason being is they have almost never known anything but safety, and love. There is something to be said about an animal that only remembers kindness. If only it could be that way for all of them."

All four are neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, and micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
