Northport Adoptable Pets Of The Week: Chewy & Rollo

NORTHPORT, NY — Chewy and Rollo, a pair of 7-month-old brothers, were named the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Pets of the Week.

Chewy, short for Chewbacca, is a black cat. Whoever adopts him may need to exercise some patience, but once he comes to trust you, he loves to be pet and played with, according to Lora Wild, a volunteer at the cat rescue.

Rollo was born with a 2-inch bunny tail, according to the association. He is very sweet and gentle. Although he's still a bit of a fraidy cat, he's not aggressive and will allow you to pet him, Wild said. He also loves to play.

"He is trying so hard to trust, and purrs while being pet, proving he has it in him to be loved," Wild said.

The brothers were found together on a construction site in Brooklyn with another 10 or more cats. The Northport Cat Rescue Association helped save and get them adopted.

"Rollo and Chewy are still waiting for that patient family that will show them how to trust and share their lives in a loving home," Wild wrote in an email. "If you ever thought perhaps you didn't have enough time to settle in a new furry friend, or friends, perhaps some good could come out of these challenging times of social distancing, and you could find it in your heart to give Chewy and Rollo a chance!"

They are both neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV Negative.
