Northport Adoptable Pets Of The Week: Peaches And Bridget
Peaches and Bridget, 1-year-old female cat friends, are hoping to be adopted together, according to the Northport Cat Rescue Association.

NORTHPORT, NY — Peaches and Bridget, 1-year-old female cat friends, were named the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cats of the Week. The rescue hopes to find someone willing to adopt the girls together.
Both were rescued from the streets and came to the rescue sad and lonely, Lora Wild, a volunteer, told Patch in an email. Both cats are "overly sweet," and the rescue seeks to help them find a forever family.
"They were placed in our habitats and our wonderful volunteers gave them as much attention as they could," Wild said.

It became clear to the rescue that Peaches and Bridget needed more, as they were starting to give up hope, according to Wild. A foster family took on the task of fostering them together.
"Hoping they would do well together, we never imagined that with some love and affection their true personalities would pop out," Wild said. "These two misfits would not only help each other but become friends; something they both desperately needed."

Bridget loves being pet, according to Wild. She gets startled at times, something she is working on, but makes the funniest face when it happens, the volunteer said. She pulls her head way back and her neck totally disappears, and her eyes get super wide and round, Wild said, describing Bridget getting startled. She meows a lot in the mornings.
Peaches is silly and fun, but has suddenly become a cat full of confidence, thanks to her friend, Bridget, Wild said. She loves to snuggle and will lay her head on whoever adopts her when she feels safe, and her fears will visibly drift away.
"How wonderful it would be to keep these two girls together," Wild said. "They play together, and it is almost as if they are cheering each other on. You can sometimes find them snuggled together in a cozy corner, one on top of the other. If you are looking for cats that are as silly as any kitten out there, and sweet as can be, these are your girls."
They are spayed, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
