Northport Adoptable Pets Of The Week: Pickle And Elmo

NORTHPORT, NY — Pickle and Elmo, 5-month-old bonded brothers, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.

"They are two of the absolute sweetest kittens you will ever meet," said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue.

Elmo is a gentle soul, who loves to be cuddled and tickled under his neck, Wild said.

"A silly boy, he will walk around with his favorite toy in his mouth and he sleeps with his tongue hanging out," Wild said. "He can be timid but is most confident when his brother Pickle is nearby, and if he leaves his side for too long he will cry until he finds him again. He loves to be held like a baby and smoosh his head into your arm. He has longish fur and is absolutely adorable."

Pickle is adventurous and loves to spend time with people, according to Wild.

"Whether he is waiting outside the shower door, sitting on your lap while working, or sleeping on the couch, there he is," she said. "He is goofy and brave, not even afraid of a vacuum. While [a person is] hugging Elmo, Pickle will stay quietly by watching, almost as if he is happy is brother is getting the love he needs. He is a snuggle bunny and so beautiful with his long hair and markings. They love to play with each other and they can entertain each other for hours."

Pickle and Elmo were fostered with other cats and did great with them, Wild said. They are also vocal and will let people know what they need, whether it is food or just to be loved.

"These two are incredibly attached, and must be adopted together, but will bond to their people as well," Wild said.

They are currently in Petco Huntington and adore visitors.

"The minute their door is opened they are seeking affection. We are hoping to get these two into their furever home before the holidays, they would be a perfect addition to any home."

Pickle and Elmo are neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, and micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
