Northport Adoptable Pets Of The Week: Ralph, Marge, And Esther
Ralph, Marge, and Esther all come from a sanctuary in Texas and are "3 of the most friendly and loving cats." They are up for adoption.

NORTHPORT, NY — Ralph, Marge, and Marge's daughter, Esther, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cats of the Week. And these felines hail from Texas.
Smiling Dog Farms Sanctuary in Texas reached out to the Northport Cat Rescue Association for help finding homes for a few of its cats after one of their owners died of COVID-19, according to Lora Wild, a volunteer with the Northport organization.
"These cats are 3 of the most friendly and loving cats our rescue has ever had the privilege of helping," Wild wrote in an email.

Ralph is 1-year-old and is silly, playful, and loving, according to Wild.
"They use to refer to Ralph as the Mayor," Wild said. "In fact when the sanctuary wanted to test out if a dog was behaved around a cat, Ralph would be the 'Cat Tester' because he is so wonderful with dogs. In his current foster home, he gets along with all the other cats too. All Ralph wants to do is play and be around people. When you walk into a room, he will come running to you and reach up to be pet or held."

Ralph has a small dot on his nose, as well as a white ring around his tail. He has maintained a kitten-like personality.
"With Ralph, what you see is what you are going to get!" Wild wrote.
Marge is a 4-year-old all-grey cat with short stubby legs. She looks like a Russian Blue, Wild said. When Marge was barely a kitten herself, Smiling Dog Farms saved her when they found her pregnant. Esther is one of Marge's loving daughters: a 3-year-old grey and white long-haired feline.
"Marge is the closest thing to a dog we have ever seen," Wild said. "She comes running and will roll over on her back to get tons of belly rubs. She talks to you and will follow you around to be pet or held. She is affectionate and fun to watch."
Esther is still shy, but she is also delicate and loving, according to Wild. Like her mother, she loves belly rubs and wants to remain nearby.
Wild said the Northport rescue would like to see Marge and Esther adopted together, as Marge is a "wonderful mommy."
"We feel Esther needs her. Neither are kittens anymore, but they are 2 of the most beautiful cats with personalities that you could only hope a kitten would someday become."
Ralph, Marge and Esther have been through a lot, including a 2-days-plus van ride from Texas to Northport.
"Through it all they remained gentle and loving," Wild said. "We would love nothing more than to see all of them find homes in time for the Holidays. Smiling Dog Farms in Texas does so much for dogs and cats, what a wonderful way for us to return the favor to them than to help these amazing cats find their happily ever after."

All three cats are spayed and neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, and micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
Northport Cat Rescue is set to have an adoption event at Petco in Commack between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
"Come on down and meet all of our beautiful kittens and cats, and meet Mayor Ralph too!" Wild said.
