Northport Among Safest Places in New York, Study Finds

The Village of Northport was ranked the No. 53 safest place in New York, according to a recent study by ValuePenguin.

The 2015 Safest Places in New York study analyzed the most recent FBI Crime Report to determine the safety of cities and towns in New York. The safest places in the state were found to be considered a town or a village. Most of the cities fell near the bottom of the rankings.

But it could be worse for Northport. It could be Buffalo.

Buffalo, named the No. 213 safest place to live in the state, boasts a crime score of 4,363.
