EAST NORTHPORT, NY—The Northport-East Northport community, along with Concerned Taxpayers Against LIPA, is hosting a "STOP LIPA NOW" rally on Saturday.

The rally begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, at John Walsh Park located at 190 Larkfield Road, East Northport, and will be "on behalf of all Long Islanders," according to the group's press release.

The group describes the rally as "a community event to call attention to the predatory actions of LIPA, against communities on Long Island," and is expecting hundreds to attend. It says several local politicians have been invited and will attend, as well.

"The community, in advocating for itself, will distribute signs, engage in new and renewed action items for all Long Islanders to engage in, and call upon our elected officials and in particular Governor [Andrew] Cuomo to immediately intervene, and stop LIPA as a rogue agency from shifting its tax burden onto residents," the release states.
