Northport Elementary Students Thank Local Veterans
Fifth Avenue Elementary first and fifth graders teamed up to send letters to veterans at the Northport VA Center.
From Northport-East Northport Union Free School District: Kindergarten and fifth-graders came together at Fifth Avenue Elementary School in the Northport-East Northport School District to thank local heroes in honor of Memorial Day. Together, each pair drew a picture and crafted a letter to send to a veteran at the Northport VA Center to thank them for their service. These two classes come together on a regular basis and completed different activities with their assigned “buddy” that, throughout the year, they build a relationship with.
