Northport Fire Department Rescues Verizon Worker
The worker had fallen 15 feet from a utility pole and was injured, according to the Northport Volunteer FD.

NORTHPORT, NY — The Northport Volunteer Fire Department rescued a Verizon worker in need on Friday morning in Northport.
The department responded to a report of a Verzion worker who fell about 15 feet from a utility pole at the intersection of Grove Street and Seaview Terrace around 10:10 a.m. Northport police officers found the worker off the road in a wooded area overgrown with thick brush at the base of a telephone pole.
1st Asst. Chief Dennis Sheridan was the first to arrive. The worker was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital after a paramedic from Centerport Fire Department helped immobilize the worker to prevent any further injuries.

Second Asst. Chief Doug Pyne, Engine 296, Engine 298, Fire Police unit 2914, unit 2911, along with Northport Village police, helped secure the landing zone.
