Northport Golf Outing Raises Funds for Children's Heart Fund
Supporters raised money and awareness to fund research and improve the lives of children and families affected by congenital heart defects.

A golf outing at Northport’s Crab Meadows Golf Club helped raised money for the New York chapter of The Children’s Heart Foundation, thanks to the support of Michael Vassallo of Financial Equities Mortgage Bankers, based in Westbury.
Golfers, sponsors, and vendors raised money and awareness for the fund’s national mission – to fund the most promising research to help improve the lives of children and families affected by congenital heart defects.
With assistance from the Children’s Heart Fund, Michael Vassallo organized a day-long outing for more than 60 golfers, and 20 sponsors. By the end of the evening, Vassallo presented the The Children’s Heart Foundation with a check for $12,000 raised from the golfers, sponsors, and personal donations, surpassing expectations for the first year’s achievement.

The 2nd Annual “Swing From the Heart” outing is already booked for next year, and Vassallo hopes to make the event larger and even more of a success than this year.
