Two teachers rallied to help doctors and medical personnel at the Department of Internal Medicine at Jacobi.

NORTHPORT, NY — A pair of Northport High School science teachers, Karyn Libretto and George Reamy, recently led an effort that supplied doctors and medical personnel at the Department of Internal Medicine at Jacobi with more than 300 protective goggles, the Northport Union Free School District announced in a news release.
The teachers rallied together with their colleagues to collect and donate goggles through Goggles for Docs – an effort to get protective supplies into the hands of healthcare workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

"It has been an overwhelming joy for all the residents to feel the support coming from various
individuals who took the time to collect protective supplies that they do not use, package
them and mail them at their own expense. Organizations like Goggles for Docs, that realized
the complicated supply chain protocol of hospitals, have literally saved lives. Thank you for
your immediate readiness to help."
