Northport Home Bursts Into Flames; Multiple Departments Help

NORTHPORT, NY — A house fire broke out on Annetta Avenue in Northport early Monday morning, according to Northport Fire Dept. Hook & Ladder Co. 1.
Members of the Northport Fire Department headed to the home at 12:48 a.m. after callers informed them of flames visible from the home with popping noises, the Northport Volunteer Fire Department said. All residents of the two-story home evacuated on their own. Under the direction of Chief of Department, John Jacobsen, Northport firefighters arrived with two engines, a tower ladder, a rescue truck and two ambulances.
The fire was extinguished at 1:13 a.m. The following fire departments aided with the blaze: East Northport, Kings Park, Centerport, Halesite and Greenlawn.

One Centerport firefighter became overheated and weak during a long salvage and overhauling operation and was transported to Huntington Hospital for evaluation.
