Northport HS Students Launch 'Project Pizza Pie' To Feed Families
The HS humanitarian group, "Students for 60,000," partnered with nearby pizzerias to deliver food to nearly 30 families in East- Northport.

EAST NORTHPORT, NY — On June 5, Northport High School’s humanitarian group, "Students for 60,000," began what will be an ongoing project of delivering pizza pies to nearly 30 families in East Northport who are impacted by the coronavirus.
The team has partnered with Timothy's Pizzeria in Centerport, Fattusco's Ristorante Pizzeria in Northport, Nina's Pizzeria in Northport, Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza in East Northport, Mario's in East Northport, Filetto's Ristorante in East Northport and Chefs of New York in East Northport.
"COVID-19 continues to place difficult strains on the community, but the generosity and altruism of our neighbors remains a powerful constant," Students for 60K adviser Darryl St. George said in a news release. "These experiences can be an opportunity for the students and community to directly engage in profoundly meaningful service. As difficult as these times are, let moments like this remind us of what is best in humanity."
