Long Island Men Charged With Assault in Fight That Broke NYPD Officer's Jaw

Two Long Island men face assault charges after they were reportedly involved in a fight outside a Manhattan bar, which left an off-duty cop badly beaten with a broken jaw early Sunday, according to the New York Post.

Matthew Tacktill, 23, of Northport, and Thomas Gagliardi, 23, of Baldwin, were among a group of five Long Island men fighting outside the Brass Monkey, near Little West 12th Street, when officer Timothy Keane, 24, intervened, announced himself as an officer and ended up getting jumped, the publication reports.
