Northport PD Blotter: Boat Owner Flew Anti-Joe Biden Flag, Cops Called
ALSO: Another hawk attack was reported, and hawk sightings were reported by a homeowner, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from July 11 through July 17.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- A Monroe Street resident was issued a field appearance ticket in connection with a barking dog disturbance on July 11.
- A dead cat was found on Main Street on July 11. Police disposed of it.
- A man who fell on Cherry Street and suffered injuries was taken to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue on July 11.
- A dog got loose on Woodhull Court on July 12 at 8:45 a.m. The dog ran off in an unknown direction after police tried to approach it. The dog's owner, who police know because of other incidents relating to her dog, could not be found or contacted. A voicemail was left on her answering machine and a warning summons was left at her home.
- A driver on Fort Salonga Road reported on July 12 that a light color Jeep was driving aggressively and following him for a few miles. The man said the Jeep turned onto Main Street heading into the village. Police found the 2005 Jeep a short time later, and the operator denied any of the allegations made by the man.
- Graffiti was reported at Village Park on July 13.
- A baby bird fell out of a tree on Oak Street on July 13. Police found a small bird on the sidewalk below a birdhouse in a tree. A nearby resident offered to try to relocate the bird back to its birdhouse.
- A dead deer was moved to the side of Waterside Road on July 13.
- A child who may have been suffering from a concussion after hitting his head on a carnival ride at the fireman's fair was brought to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue on July 13.
- A man reported a hawk attack on Church Street near Prospect Avenue on July 14. He said while he was walking, a hawk swooped down from behind him and clawed his left
shoulder, leaving minor scratches. He declined medical attention. - A Scudder Avenue resident on July 14 said a hawk has been up in his trees for the past few weeks and swooped down into his yard multiple times while his children were outside. He said that nobody has been struck by the hawk yet but wanted to document the hawk sightings.
- A man lost his wallet, which held multiple credit cards and NYS IDs when he went overboard on a boat in Northport Harbor. He requested the report on July 14 so he could get new state IDs.
- Drivers were warned and admonished for parking illegally on Jay Court on July 14. They were moving their cars by the time police arrived.
- Police believed a man may have been overdosing in his vehicle parked in Municipal Lot #1 on July 15. The man turned out to be sleeping and did not need medical help.
- Police were called to Harborview Jewelers around 10:20 a.m. July 15 for a report of a "suspicious man" asking questions. The man told the police he was just asking when the computer store opens.
- A summons was issued to the driver of a vehicle with mismatched license plates and registration sticker on July 15.
- A dead fawn was found on a Clipper Drive property on July 15. Police helped the homeowner dispose of the baby deer.
- Police helped a driver whose vehicle became disabled on Waterside Avenue on July 16. Police moved the vehicle to the side of the road and called a tow truck.
- A woman fell while walking her dog on Main Street on July 16. Northport Rescue brought her to Huntington Hospital.
- Police settled an argument between two Woodhull Court neighbors over mulch that was moved from one lawn to the next by flooding rain water on July 16. Police advised both neighbors to keep their distance in the future and avoid contact unless absolutely necessary.
- A person called the police to Highland Avenue around 8 p.m. July 16 because of loud music with profanities playing. The caller said the music was turned off before police arrived.
- A summons was issued to the driver of an illegally parked vehicle on Bayview Avenue on July 16.
- A man fainted at Rockin' Fish on July 16 and was brought to Huntington Hospital by Dix Hills Rescue.
- Someone called police around 2:30 p.m. July 17 to report a vessel in Northport Harbor was displaying a "F--- Biden" flag and that there were numerous cars from out-of-state fighting for parking spots on Main Street. The caller told police that the flag is not free speech and that children could see it. Police told the caller that this was not a violation of the law and that the flag is protected speech.
- Police went to Village Dock around 4:20 p.m. on July 17 for a report of an argument over a flag that was being flown by a boat owner. Both parties spoke with the police and agreed to disagree. Both left the area.
