Northport PD Blotter: Drunken Woman Drives Into Oncoming Traffic

ALSO: A woman was banned from Lic's Ice Cream after she threw a phone on the ground and pushed the tip jar off the counter, police say.

NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Oct. 18 through Oct. 24.

The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Anastacia Lodge, 27, of Huntington, was driving a 2004 Ford southbound when she drove past a stop sign on Woodbine Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Oct. 24, police said. She then drove westbound on Fort Salonga Road and completely crossed over the double-yellow line into the eastbound lane of traffic, police said. Police stopped her on Milland Drive, police said. Her breath smelled of alcohol, her eyes were glassy and bloodshot, her speech was slurred, she was very unsteady on her feet, and she performed poorly on several field sobriety tests, police said. Lodge was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI, DWI, unsafe lane change and failed to stop at a stop sign.

Incidents

  • A "severely injured" deer was euthanized by police on Gull Cove Road on Oct. 18.
  • A woman was reportedly throwing things inside Lic's Ice Cream on Oct. 18. Two female employees told police a woman came into the store yelling and demanding to speak with the owner about an incident involving her husbamd. The employees handed the woman the store phone to speak with the owner. The woman spoke with the owner, threw the phone to the ground, pushed the tip jar off the counter and walked out of the store. Someone got the woman's license plate as she drove off. A trespass affidavit was filed by the owner, and the woman was banned from the store.
  • An Amazon delivery driver was bit by a dog on Woodhull Place on Oct. 18.
  • A person entered Trinity Episcopal Church Thrift Shop without wearing a mask on Oct. 15. The person "became very irate and loud" when an employee asked them to put a mask on, police said. The person "continued to be loud and aggressive towards other patrons in the store as well," police said.
  • A group of three reportedly went on a woman's Main Street property on Oct. 18, walked around and took photos.
  • A man found the front passenger side window of his Jeep Patriot broken on Oct. 23. He believes a piece of debris from a passing driver may have caused the damage. Police did not observe intentional damage.
  • A man was caught littering on Ocean Avenue on Oct. 23. The man said he was on his way to Brooklyn when he threw two beer cans into the brush and had since removed them.
