The woman said when she went to get her mail, the mailbox post was slightly turned in the wrong direction and the aluminum box itself was dented. • A sledge hammer was found on the side of Church Street on May 4. Police stored the hammer.
  • A woman said her family was walking her leashed dog on Main Street on May 6 when another leashed dog began biting and ripping around her dog, police said. The woman's
dog wasn't present when police arrived. The woman said her dog was being brought to the vet to receive medical aid. The other dog owner stated that while the woman's family was walking her leashed dog past his leashed dog, her dog began barking at his dog, which he said may have incited the incident. The woman said she was going to bring the man to court for monetary loss because of the vet bill. Both parties requested an incident report for documentary purposes.
  • Police tried to help a motorist jumpstart his car on Main Street on May 6. The owner called for a tow truck after several attempts to jumpstart the car were unsuccessful.
  • Police responded to Scudder Place on May 7 for a report of a TikTok active shooter threat in Texas. The caller showed Northport police a TikTok video of a man stating he intends to carry out an active shooter event during a specified time and place in Fort Worth, Texas. Multiple attempts were made to contact the local police in Fort Worth but all phone lines were busy or disconnected. Northport police assumed the busy phone lines were the result of the high number of calls regarding the incident. The Fort Worth Police department put out a Twitter alert advising that the subject had been located and arrested two days ago on May 5 regarding the threat. Suffolk police were told of the arrest.
  • A broken car window was reported on Oakleigh Place on May 7. The caller told police that when he closed the rear hatch to his wife's vehicle that morning, the glass from the back driver side window shattered into pieces. He said the window must have been previously shattered but still intact until he closed the rear hatch. The man said his wife had been mowing the lawn the day before and it may have been possible that a rock had been kicked up and caused the damage. No items were missing from inside the vehicle and the doors did not appear to be opened after the glass was broken. Police filed a criminal mischief affidavit.
  • A vehicle with illegal tints was being driven on Crinkle Court on May 7, police said. Police stopped the vehicle and ran an eJustice search, which revealed that the New Jersey temporary plate attached to the vehicle was expired and registered to a different vehicle. NJ State Troopers confirmed the plate was expired. The vehicle was unregistered, uninsured, and un-inspected, police said. The temporary plate was seized, the appropriate summons was issued and driver was advised he would have to find a safe and lawful way to get the vehicle home.
