Northport Police Blotter: Man Saves Sister From Overdose
ALSO: A potential scam was reported by CVS, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from May 16 through May 22.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- The manager of a CVS Pharmacy reported a possible "quick change" scam to police on May 16. The manager said a woman walked up to the cashier and asked for change for $500. The manager said the woman was told they could not make change for that amount of money. The woman handed over a $100 bill and requested change, and the cashier obliged. The manager said that after the exchange was complete, the cashier's draw was less than $139. The manager
said the cashier became confused about the money exchange and that the woman did not speak English, making it difficult to understand her. - A solicitor was asked to leave Reservoir Avenue on May 16 after he did not have a permit. The solicitor didn't know he needed a permit and left.
- A school bus was involved in a collision on Fort Salonga Road on May 17.
- A solicitor was asked to leave Soper Avenue on May 17 after he did not have a permit. He was told he could receive a summons if he did not leave. He left.
- Police found a female who ran away on Butler Place on May 17.
- A woman was reportedly trespassing inside CFC Flor All on May 17. The woman told police she is staying at the flooring contractor but was given a key by the woman who lives in the upstairs apartment. The officers told the woman she could not sleep inside the business and must go upstairs into the apartment if she wants to stay, to which she agreed. The officers could not reach the landlord.
- A burning odor in a Clipper Drive home was caused by a smoldering cord on a light fixture on May 18. The cord was removed, and the fire chief cleared the home.
- A black wallet was found in Municipal Lot 1 on May 18. Police could not contact the owner, so the wallet was placed in the temporary evidence bin.
- Northport police helped Suffolk police with a car crash on Eatons Neck Road on May 19.
- A landlord has received numerous unwanted phone calls, he reported to police on May 19. He said he is in the process of evicting a resident, and the resident has been giving people the
landlord's phone number and telling them an apartment is available for rent when it is not. The landlord believes the resident is providing the number to people as a way to harass him. Police took the report for informational purposes. - A woman overdosed on May 20. The woman's brother told police his sister called him earlier
in the day to tell him that she was going to take some of her prescription medication. The brother said he went to check on his sister but she was not answering her phone or opening the door. Police found the woman unresponsive with agonal breathing. Police administered one dose of Naloxone. Northport EMS brought the woman to Huntington Hospital to be evaluated. - A group of teens told police they got into an altercation with another "party" on Laurel Avenue on May 21, but the other party had left by the time police got there.
- A fraud was reported to Northport police on May 21.
- A Hill Street homeowner reported on May 21 that a boy was hiding against his house. The homeowner confronted the man, who gave him the finger and walked down the road towards Waterside Avenue. Police went to the boy's house to interview him. He was warned and admonished, and his parent was told what happened.
- Northport police helped Asharoken police with a car crash on Asharoken Avenue on May 22.
- There was a hit-and-run on Bayview Avenue on May 22, as one driver drove off without exchanging information.
- A woman on May 22 told police someone had hacked into her Instagram account and changed her account email.
