Northport Police Blotter: 4 Drivers Arrested In Past Week
There were some incidents as well, including a possible identity theft, and two dogs who got loose found safe and sound, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent arrests and incidents from the Northport Village area, from Dec. 9 through Dec. 15.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- Thomas Gesuale, 63, of Northport, was on Cairo Avenue and Ocean Avenue at 2:41 p.m. Dec. 9 when he swerved out of his lane while driving without a license, police said. He was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation: refused chemical test, operate motor vehicle by unlicensed driver, unsafe lane change and equipment: vehicle manufactured after 1952/two stop lamps on Dec. 9.
- Eric Andrews, 48, of Coram, was driving on Franklin Street with tinted windows and without a valid license, police said. He was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation: three or more suspensions, operate motor vehicle by unlicensed driver and equipment tinted windows around 11 a.m. on Dec. 11.
- Thomas Evers, 25, of East Northport, was driving an unregistered vehicle without a valid license, and was also issued a ticket for having marijuana, police said. He was arrested and charged with second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and operating unregistered motor vehicle on Dec. 11.
- Ingrid Campbell, 59, of Northport, was driving on Sagtikos Parkway and Scudder Avenue when she was involved in an incident but drove off, police said. Campbell tried to illegally overtake a second car on the left to make a right turn onto Laurel Avenue, which led to the collision, as the second driver was making a legal right turn onto Laurel Avenue, police said. She was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an incident and improper lane use on Dec. 12.
Incidents
- A person cursed at someone else at Carl's Candies on Main Street, though the person was gone by the time police arrived. The incident happened at 6:45 p.m. on Dec. 11.
- Police responded to Nina's Pizza on Main Street on a report of a man causing a disturbance around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 11. An officer found the man, who said he was on his way home. The officer spoke with the person who called police, who said the man was mumbling to himself while staring at customers. No crime was observed or alleged, and the officer brought the man home without incident.
- A pair walked into headquarters to report identity theft around 11:30 a.m. Dec. 12. The complainants said around 11 p.m. Dec. 11, they noticed two unauthorized withdrawals from
their Chase checking account totaling $33,500. The withdrawals were made that same day a few hours earlier. The complainants contacted the bank which ensured them they would
not be responsible for the withdrawals and not suffer a monetary loss and are investigating the incident on their end. A report was taken for informational purposes and the case forwarded to a detective. - A person went to police headquarters to inform officers of a man who, multiple times, has let his dog out of his car without a leash and lets the dog run around Scudder Park. The dog approaches other animals and runs without a leash. The complainant was told to call police when the man returns to the park with his dog. The man was contacted and informed of Village Ordinance. The incident happened Dec. 13.
- A man was possibly having a stroke on Annetta Avenue. He was evaluated by Northport Rescue's paramedic, who told him he should go to the hospital. The man refused any more medical attention and chose to stay home. The incident happened Dec. 14.
- Two dogs got out of a house near Laurel Avenue, and police were called. When officers arrived, a driver who found one of the dogs flagged them down. The dogs' owner said the second loose dog made its way back home. The incident happened Dec. 14.
- A potted plant was stolen from a home on Millan Drive, and the mailbox was crushed. The incident happened Dec. 15.
