Northport Police Blotter: Beer Cans Hurled Onto Man's Lawn
Someone had thrown a Miller Lite beer can onto someone's lawn almost every night for months, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Jan. 17 through Jan. 23.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- A Burr Avenue woman reported a ding-dong ditch on Jan. 17. Officers could not find the person who rang the bell and ran off.
- A deer stuck in a fence on Nautilus Avenue was euthanized on Jan. 17. The Northport Highway Department was contacted to remove it.
- A summons was issued on Jan. 18 to someone who did not have a parking boat trailer after they had a trailer with a Hobiecat sailboat parked on Laurel Avenue.
- An intoxicated man was refusing to leave Gunther's Tap Room on Jan. 20. The man told police he got into an argument with another person at the bar. He agreed to leave.
- Someone in the same vehicle was accused of throwing beer cans onto a Stone Drive homeowner's lawn for several months. The homeowner told police on Jan. 22 that since the summer, a red Toyota Highlander drives past his house almost every night between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. and its driver throws a Miller Lite beer can onto his lawn in the same spot. The man does not know who owns the vehicle but believes his house is being targeted. He asked police to speak with the Toyota owner. Police went to the house to confront the Toyota owner about the situation. The vehicle's registered owner and her husband both became "extremely irate" when questioned about the incidents and refused to speak with police, police said. The man was satisfied with police giving the two a verbal warning.
