Northport Police Blotter: Chase Points Stolen; Car Tampered With
ALSO: A CVS theft was reported, and an injured raccoon was rescued, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from June 19 through June 25.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- Police were called to Village Park for a report of graffiti on June 19. The officers confirmed the graffiti was part of the Pride Fest event over the weekend and the drawings were done in chalk. The Highway Department was notified to remove the chalk.
- An elderly woman who fell at Northport Tennis Club was taken to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue on June 19.
- A man reported a criminal mischief on June 20 after his vehicle was tampered with at the Woodbine Marina Lot.
- A possible identity theft was reported on Scudder Avenue on June 20. A man said he received a letter from the Social Security office. He said the letter was worrisome because it mentioned the word fraud. He said he has not lost funds nor has he been contacted by anyone, specifically his banking institution or Social Security office, about possible fraud or identity theft. Police determined the letter the man received was in regards to the Social Security office requesting updated contact information.
- A woman got glass in her eye at The Whales Tale on June 20. Northport Rescue brought her to Huntington Hospital.
- Police found an injured raccoon on Woodbine Avenue on June 20. Police removed it from the property and called a rescue to pick it up.
- People were on a beach on Hawkins Drive with an open fire on June 20. Police asked them to extinguish it and leave, which they did.
- A group of youths was warned and admonished for yelling and cursing at Village Park on June 21.
- A motor vehicle crash was reported on Woodbine Avenue on June 21. Northport police waited until Suffolk police arrived.
- A raccoon was removed from a Sir Kenneth Court driveway and taken to a wooded area by police on June 21.
- A theft was reported at CVS Pharmacy on June 21.
- A woman on June 21 told police Chase Points were stolen from her bank account.
- A summons was issued to a vehicle blocking a driveway on Main Street on June 21.
- Police saw two men trying to get into Sea Cove Road residents' vehicles on June 22.
- People fishing on private property on Hawkins Drive on June 24 were asked to leave, which they did.
- People fishing on private property on Hawkins Drive on June 24 were asked to leave. A parking summons was issued.
- A Scudder Place neighbor was taking pictures of a man power washing his home on June 25. The neighbor told police he was taking pictures because he was concerned that the man was power washing his house by hanging out of an upstairs window. Both neighbors agreed to avoid each other for the rest of the day.
- Police moved a disabled vehicle off of Woodbine Avenue on June 25.
- An elderly woman fainted in Municipal Lot #7 on June 25. Northport Rescue brought her to Huntington Hospital.
