Northport Police Blotter: Dead Fish Left At Farm Sanctuary

ALSO: A woman says some political signs in the neighborhood went missing, police say.

NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Aug. 1 through Aug. 7.

The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • A female told police that a female she did not know was taking pictures of her at Northport Library on Aug. 2. The female left the library before police arrived.
  • Police helped a driver change a tire on Bluff Point Road on Aug. 2.
  • A summons was issued to the owner of a boat trailer parked in the street of Scudder Place on Aug. 3.
  • A summons was issued to the owner of an illegally-parked vehicle by Little Sprouts By The Sea on Scudder Avenue on Aug. 4.
  • The owner of Rockin' Fish filled out a trespass affidavit against one of the restaurant's employees on Aug. 4.
  • Dead fish were found near one of the animal cages at Lewis Oliver Farm Sanctuary on Aug. 4. The employee at the farm did not know how the fish got there. The employee cleaned up the fish remains, and police told them to call back if anything else fishy happened at the farm.
  • A woman who fainted at Skipper's Pub on Aug. 4 was brought to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue.
  • A Bluff Point Road resident on Aug. 5 reported that some political signs in the neighborhood have gone missing. The caller states that she has placed numerous election signs campaigning for Susan Berland for the New York State Senate. The woman said the signs were placed on private property with the owners' consent, and that some of the signs disappeared. The woman did not see the signs tampered with, nor does she have potential suspects in mind, but she wanted the incident to be documented. The woman also said she will be replacing the missing signs with new ones.
  • A man reported finding what he believed to be human feces on the roof of a vehicle on Center Street on Aug. 6. The man said no damage was done to the vehicle and does not know who would have done it.
  • Police found a loose dog on Woodside Avenue on Aug. 7 and returned the dog to its owner.
  • A woman said a bicyclist accidentally collided with her vehicle on Main Street on Aug. 7. The woman said she was in traffic behind a vehicle when a teenage bicyclist hit the back of her vehicle. The woman said she immediately checked to make sure the cyclist was not hurt. The woman said the cyclist was not hurt. She did not feel the need to report the incident or exchange info. The woman said her vehicle was not damaged.
