Northport Police Blotter: Deer Stuck In Fence Euthanized
The deer's leg was broken and lodged in the fence, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Aug. 29 through Sept. 4.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- A stolen car being tracked by BMW was reportedly on Cherry and Main streets on Aug. 29, but police could not find the car.
- Scam letters were sent in the mail. A Mar Kan Drive resident on Aug. 29 reported he received two postcards stating that had unclaimed rewards and needed to contact the center at 1-888-994-1188/1-888-337-3303. The man called the number but when they asked for a credit card number he hung up. He did not lose any money.
- A man said he got into an argument with a driver who was recklessly driving down Prospect Avenue on Aug. 30. Police warned and admonished the driver.
- Police helped a Schooner Road resident get back into their home on Aug. 30 after they were locked out.
- Northport police helped Suffolk police with a missing male from Kings Park. The male was found on Main Street in Northport on Aug. 31.
- Youths wearing clown masks said they were trying to scare passing drivers on Ocean Avenue as a prank on Aug. 31. A relative was called to pick the youths up. The youths were admonished by police.
- Two dog owners got into an argument at a park on Woodbine Avenue on Sept. 1. The dog owners were arguing about one owner not cleaning up after their dog. Police talked with both dog owners, who said there was no problem, and that the dog was cleaned up after.
- Police helped fix a woman's damaged driver's side mirror on Sept. 1 after she said she didn't know how it was damaged.
- A summons was issued to the driver of a vehicle that was parked in a no-parking zone at Trinity Episcopal Church on Sept. 2.
- A child fell 10 feet on Vail Street and was injured on Sept. 2. Northport Rescue brought the child to a nearby hospital.
- The owner of a vessel was issued two summonses on Sept. 2 in connection with the vessel being left unattended on the dock for two days and dock fees not being paid.
- A summons was issued to the driver of a vehicle that was parked in a no-parking zone on Scudder Avenue on Sept. 3.
- A deer was found stuck in a fence on Hawkins Drive on Sept. 3. The deer's leg was broken and lodged in the fence. Police said they euthanized the deer and asked the Northport Highway Department to dispose of it.
- A woman found a wallet at Makamah Beach and turned it in to police on Sept. 3. Police tried to contact the wallet's owner but was unsuccessful. The wallet was placed in the temporary bin.
- Northport police went to Harrison Drive to help Suffolk police with a male urinating on the lawn and the neighbors holding him down on Sept. 3.
