Northport Police Blotter: Driver Charged With DWI

ALSO: A lost dog, a lost phone, and a damaged vehicle were reported, police say.

NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from July 25 through July 31.

The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Manjot Singh, 25, of Hicksville, drove while intoxicated on Reservoir Avenue around 1:10 a.m. July 27, police said. Singh was arrested and charged with one count of driving while intoxicated: BAC reading, two counts of unsafe lane change, one count of consumption of alcoholic beverages, one count of equipment: rear lights, and one count of driving while intoxicated.

Incidents

  • A vehicle was damaged on Norwood Avenue on July 25. Police do not know how the vehicle was damaged.
  • A man fainted at Skipper's Pub on July 25. Northport Rescue went, but the man declined medical attention.
  • An unconscious man found at Cow Harbor Park was brought to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue on July 26.
  • A dead squirrel was removed off Norwood Avenue and disposed of on July 27.
  • A woman fainted at Ivy Rehab on July 28. She was brought to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue.
  • Someone was suffering from a "traumatic leg injury" on Fort Salonga Road on July 30. Northport Rescue brought the person to Huntington Hospital.
  • A dog got loose on Mariners Lane on July 30, but police could not find it. Anyone who finds the dog was asked to call Northport Police Headquarters.
  • A phone was found on Main Street. Police placed the phone in the temporary bin on July 30.
  • Police helped a driver whose boat fell off the trailer on Fort Salonga Road on July 30.
  • An injured bird was euthanized by police and disposed of on Bluff Point Road on July 31.
  • Loud music was being played at a party on James Street around 9:55 p.m. July 31. Police spoke with a resident, who agreed to lower the music.
