Northport Police Blotter: Drunken Driver Arrested

NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Sept. 20 through Sept. 26.

The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

Incidents

• An officer, while en route to the H. Lee Dennison Building in Hauppauge, saw a man attempting to jump off an overpass at Sagtikos Parkway at 9:54 a.m. Sept. 21. The officer remained with New York State Police.
• Police helped find a loose dog, and the owner was able to regain control of the dog. The incident happened on Rutledge Avenue on Sept. 21.
• Northport police helped Suffolk police deal with a car crashing into a tree on Middleville Road around 12:25 a.m. Sept. 23.
• A woman told police she found the end of a box cutter in her driver side rear tire, causing roughly $150 in damage. She said she found the box cutter on Sept. 23 after parking on Main Street. She said she was driving earlier when she heard a "pop!" sound. The woman documented the incident for insurance purposes.
• A man reported a possible scam on Sept. 24. He said someone he didn't know hacked his email and contacted one of his clients. The unknown person had the client direct payment to a new bank account number. The hacker then deleted the email chain. The man who called police found out what happened after he called his client looking for his payment. The caller was told to contact his banks and credit cards for any unauthorized transactions, as well as change his passwords. The caller was told by police that getting payment from his client is a civil matter.
• A group of teens was reportedly possibly causing damage in the men's room of Village Park on Sept. 25.
• A summons was issued to a vehicle parked illegally on Main Street on Sept. 26.
