  • Police were called to CVS Pharmacy on Oct. 11 for a report of a fraudulent prescription placed for oxycodone. The caller said the prescription came in through email and that prescribing doctor's name was spelled incorrectly and the phone number was not connecting anywhere. Police made contact with the doctor's office and confirmed no such patient was in their system. Police told the pharmacist to call the if anyone tries to pick up the order.

The woman declined a hospital trip but wanted the incident documented for informational purposes. Police contacted the owner of the labrador, who said he was training his dog with an electric collar when she became excited, jumped up and accidentally scratched the woman. The owner provided the dog's veterinarian information and the officer requested a copy of the dog's vaccine paperwork. The vaccine record was up to date. Both dog owners were given warnings and told that dogs are not allowed in the park, leash or not.
  • A motor vehicle crash happened on Fort Salonga Road on Oct. 15. Northport police remained at the scene until Suffolk police arrived.
