Northport Police Blotter: Grand Theft At Meat Shop; Lost Dog Found
ALSO: Youths were throwing things from cars, an ATV/UTV rider was issued a summons, and a good Samaritan turned in lost cash, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Oct. 2 through Oct. 8.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- A grand larceny was reported at Northport Quality Meats on Oct. 2.
- A woman experienced an anaphylactic reaction at the Northport Fire Department on Oct. 2. Northport Rescue brought her to Huntington Hospital.
- A petty theft was reported at Bohemiac Boutique on Oct. 2.
- A summons was issued to a driver parked in a metered space on Main Street on Oct. 2.
- A group of youths was yelling and throwing things from cars on Ocean Avenue on Oct. 2. Police found both vehicles, and the occupants were warned and admonished. Officers issued summonses to the drivers.
- A man found cash on Main Street and turned it in to police on Oct. 2.
- A Scudder Avenue man believes his license plate was stolen sometime before Oct. 3. He does not recall the last time he saw the plate on the car.
- Police were called to Northwest Drive on Oct. 3 for a report of someone possibly living in the woods behind a home. Police officers saw bottles and trash in the woods behind the caller's house but did not find anyone. The homeowner was told extra patrols will be done in the neighborhood to check the wooded area.
- Police were called to Clipper Drive on Oct. 4 for a report of an ATV/UTV driving on the street. The department has received numerous complaints regarding the ATV/UTV driving on village roads and cutting through the Harbour Point Condos. Police said they warned the driver on multiple occasions to not operate the ATV/UTV on village roads and issued a summons.
- Squatters were found in a Norwood Road property on Oct. 4. They told police they've been living in the property for three months. Police tried to contact the asset management company but got no answer. Police took no further action.
- A petty larceny was reported at Nest on Main on Oct. 5.
- A vehicle was blocking the way to a staircase at Municipal Lot #7 on Oct. 5. Police issued a summons.
- Police found a dog named Cashew by Hickory Place on Oct. 7. The owner picked Cashew up at police headquarters.
- Someone found a wallet and turned it in to police headquarters on Oct. 8. The wallet's owner picked it up.
- A summons was issued to the driver of a vehicle blocking a Main Street driveway on Oct. 8.
