Northport Police Blotter: Hawk Attacks Woman On Main Street
ALSO: A driver caught doing donuts in a parking lot was made to re-grade the lot by police.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from April 11 through April 17.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- Police helped a mother find her 17-year-old daughter on April 11.
- A crosswalk sign on Main Street was damaged by a tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer driver accidentally ran the sign over on April 12 while he was trying to park the trailer for the night. Police were able to move the sign back to its proper spot.
- A summons was issued to the driver of a vehicle blocking a Lisa Drive driveway on April 12.
- A woman was attacked by a hawk and went to the police station on April 12. She said the hawk hit the back of her head and knocked her to the ground. She suffered minor cuts but declined further medical attention.
- A woman said she got a phone call on April 12 stating she could win $1 million, but
she had to enter the drawing by purchasing gift cards from Walgreens. The woman refused to purchase any gift cards and hung up the phone. The woman did not have the number of the person that called her house phone. - A driver was warned and admonished for doing donuts in the parking lot of Scudder Park on April 13. Police had the driver return to the parking lot to re-grade the lot with a rake/shovel in lieu of a summons.
- Police stopped a vehicle traveling westbound on Fort Salonga Road at 1:22 a.m. April 13. Police found the driver had a suspended license and was driving the car with a suspended registration. The driver's client ID registered multiple hits for warrants with the NYPD for other various past vehicle-related misdemeanor offenses. The officer was able to make contact with NYPD, who told the officer that his squad was not going to respond to pick up the driver. The Northport officer issued a summons to the driver.
- Police remained at the scene of a crash on Elwood Road on April 13 until Suffolk police got there.
- Police were called to Giunta's Meat Farm when a man was yelling on April 14. The man told police he was just talking out loud about his present living conditions and then left.
- A summons was issued to a driver whose vehicle was partially blocking the road of Bayview Avenue on April 16.
- A summons was issued to a driver whose vehicle was illegally parked on Fifth Avenue on April 16.
- A summons was issued to a driver whose vehicle was partially blocking the road of Bayview Avenue on April 16.
- An injured bird was reported on Main Street on April 16. The bird was found dead by police.
- A woman on April 16 reported that a loud group of youths was in her neighbor's Nautilus Avenue front yard overnight. There was damage to the neighbor's fence. The neighbor was away for the week.
