Northport Police Blotter: Items Stolen From Multiple Vehicles
A Speedway credit card and clothes were among the items stolen from vehicles in Northport, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Feb. 7 through Feb. 13.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- Items were stolen from a vehicle on Highland Avenue between 5:30 p.m. Feb. 6 and 7:30 a.m. Feb. 7.
- A driver told police that another driver had been tailgating him for 20 minutes around 8 p.m. Feb. 7. The second driver told police that the driver who made the complaint cut him off and he was upset about it. Police warned and admonished both drivers.
- A man reported a potential fraud to police on Feb. 8. He said someone had hacked the
email of his business and changed his outgoing invoices to instruct his clients to wire money into an unknown account. The clients alerted the man of the altered invoicing instructions and the complainant contacted all involved clients to stop any wire transfers to the fraudulent account. The complainant's IT employee fixed the security issue. No one lost money, police said. - A woman said a teenager in a group of four or five yelled "prostitute!" at her as she was walking by on Woodbine Avenue at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 4. She reported the incident on Feb. 8.
- A parking summons was issued to the driver of an unregistered vehicle on Laurel Street on Feb. 8.
- Multiple Fransal Court homeowners reported plumbing issues. The sewer was full, according to police. Police notified the highway department.
- A dead opossum was removed from a Lewis Road yard on Feb. 9.
- Two reports of people going through vehicles were made between midnight and 4 a.m. Feb. 10; the first at Woodbine Marina Lot and the second at Oak Street.
- A stolen phone was tracked by police to Oak Street on Feb. 10.
- Two men reported items were stolen from their vehicles on Laurel Street on Feb. 10.
- Clothes were reported stolen from a Burr Avenue vehicle on Feb. 10.
- A Speedway credit card was reported stolen from a woman's vehicle on Oak Street on Feb. 10.
- A person on Feb. 11 reported a forged check to police.
- A person filed a complaint about the manager of CVS on Fort Salonga Road. The manager reportedly was cursing, being rude, and not wearing a mask, according to the complaint to police. The manager was advised of the complaint.
- A suspicious vehicle was reported on Oak Street around 1:20 a.m. Feb. 13. Police searched the area but could not find the vehicle.
