Northport Police Blotter: Man Overdoses, Skunk Found, More
ALSO: A deer was hit by a vehicle, and a man suffering a cardiac issue was brought to the hospital, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Feb. 27 through March 5.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- A 3-year-old boy was choking on Main Street on Feb. 27. He was no longer choking when police arrived. Northport Rescue brought him to Huntington Hospital.
- A deer was hit by a vehicle on Waterside Avenue at 7 p.m. Feb. 27. The driver said she was going southbound when the deer jumped in front of her vehicle.
- Someone left a crash scene on Mar-Kan Drive at 2:40 p.m. Feb. 28.
- A person was issued an appearance ticket on March 1 instead of being arrested for leaving the scene of a crash on Mar-Kan Drive.
- A debit card was turned in to the front desk at Northport Library on March 1. Police could not reach the card's owner.
- A skunk was causing an odor on Schooner Road around 5:30 a.m. March 2.
- A man overdosed on Dolphin Lane on March 3. Police found him unconscious with agonal breathing. Police administered Narcan and gave him a bag valve mask to help him breathe. Northport Rescue brought him to Huntington Hospital.
- A man suffering a cardiac issue on Prospect Avenue was brought to Huntington Hospital on March 3.
- Two dogs were reportedly loose on Horseshoe Drive on March 4. Police could not find the dogs.
- A dead raccoon was found on the side of the road on Harbour Point Drive on March 5. The raccoon was disposed of.
- Kids were heard screaming on Waterside Avenue on March 5. Someone was concerned for the kids and asked police to check on them. Police went to the home, where the children were all in good health, and the mother was informed of the complaint.
