Northport Police Blotter: Man Trapped Upside Down In Boat
ALSO: A woman reported a fraudulent account was opened under her name, a dead hawk was found, and more, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Nov. 7 through Nov. 13.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- An injured deer was euthanized on Norwood Avenue on Nov. 7. The Northport Highway Department removed the corpse.
- A large party on Terry Road was broken up by the police around 9:25 p.m. on Nov. 7. A woman said her son was only supposed to have a few friends over in their back yard, but a lot of people then showed up without invite.
- A summons was issued to two illegally parked vehicles that were in a no-parking zone at Little Sprouts by the Sea during school hours on Nov. 8.
- A woman went into police headquarters on Nov. 8 to report a person or persons opened a fraudulent account with National Grid. She discovered this after receiving a phone call about a late payment and discovered an outstanding balance of $86.43.
- A Northport woman on Nov. 8 reported that political signs were removed from her property. She told police that her neighbor removed four political signs from her front lawn. The woman was able to retrieve the signs from further down the road. The woman had video of the sign thefts but did not want to press charges.
- A deer was hit by a vehicle on Fort Salonga Road on Nov. 9.
- A dead hawk was found in the road on Laurel Avenue on Nov. 11. The bird was removed and disposed of.
- An American flag on the ground on Main Street was picked up and put in a safe place on Nov. 11.
- A large hole was reported in the middle of Soper Avenue on Nov. 11. Police placed cones around the hole and requested that the Northport Highway Department repair the roadway.
- A motor vehicle crash was reported on Fort Salonga Road on Nov. 11.
- A dog got loose on Woodbine Avenue on Nov. 12. Police could not find the dog.
- CVS Pharmacy on Fort Salonga Road reported a forged check on Nov. 12.
- A man was stuck in a boat near Harbor Point Road on Nov. 12. Police found the man with his upper torso and head down in the bilge of his boat unable to remove himself. Officers were able to free the man, who had been hanging upside down for three hours. The man was visibly dizzy and disoriented, had cuts on his arms, and swelling in his face. Northport Rescue brought him to Huntington Hospital.
- Someone suffered wrist and rib injuries in a motor vehicle crash on Laurel Avenue on Nov. 13. The person was brought to Huntington Hospital.
- A woman told police that she was walking along southbound Burr Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 when an older white van approached her. The driver, described to police as a white man with unkempt gray hair in his early 50s, asked the woman if she wanted a dog treat for her dog.
