Northport Police Blotter: Man's Nose Broken In Assault

He said he was attacked by three other men, police say.

NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from April 13 through 19.

The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • A tree fell onto Waterside Road April 13, blocking the roadway. Suffolk County Emergency Service responded to remove the debris.
  • A man having chest pain on Hickory Place was brought to Stony Brook University Hospital.
  • Police were called to Highland Avenue for a report of non-essential work being done. It was a plumber who had just finished repairing a heater and was packing his tools for the day. The report was made April 14.
  • A man from Douglas Avenue was having respiratory difficulty with flu like symptoms on April 15. He was brought to Huntington Hospital.
  • Police responded to Hilton Avenue for a report of a man with a possibly-broken nose. The man said he was assaulted by three other men. The man appeared to have a fractured nose and was disoriented, according to police. Northport Rescue brought him to Stony Brook University Hospital. The incident happened around 11 p.m. April 16.
  • A driver flagged down an officer on Fort Salonga Road to report a potential drunk driver. Police stopped the car, but the driver didn't show any signs of intoxication. The incident happened April 17.
  • Police responded to Seaview Terrace for a report of a neighbor acting "erratic." The woman said her neighbor came into her driveway, yelled at her and gave her the finger. The neighbor denied doing so. Police suggested the woman avoid further contact with her neighbors. The incident happened April 17.
  • A woman from Seaview Terrace on April 19 went to police headquarters to request a trespass affidavit against her neighbor. She said the neighbor made a u-turn in her driveway the other day while yelling and screaming at her. She said she has had numerous similar interactions with the neighbor, and wants her to know she's not allowed on her property.
  • Police responded to Cow Harbor Park for a report of kids playing basketball. Police didn't see anyone playing basketball when they got there. The incident happened April 19.
  • Police responded to Laurel Avenue School for a report of people playing tennis and not following social distancing guidelines. Police didn't see any violations when they got there. The incident happened April 19.
  • Police responded to Ocean Avenue School for a report of people not following social distancing. The group was leaving when police arrived. The incident happened April 19.
