Northport Police Blotter: Multiple Cars Rummaged Through
Items were stolen from one of the cars, police say. ALSO: Cases of beer were stolen from a CVS, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from July 18 through July 24.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- A man was standing on the hood of a moving Jeep in Municipal Lot #1 on July 18. The driver was warned and admonished by police.
- An unknown liquid spilled out onto Church Street on July 18. Church Street was blocked off
from Reservoir Avenue to Main Street until the leak was repaired and the roadway was deemed safe for vehicular and pedestrian traffic. - Police were called to Fort Salonga Road for an argument between a landlord and tenant on July 18 and told the landlord the matter was civil in nature.
- A man received an email on July 19 from someone who threatened his moorings and business. The man's physical well-being was not threatened.
- Graffiti was reported on a garbage can on Main Street on July 19.
- A woman suffering from dementia refused to leave a man's Lewis Road back yard on July 19. Police escorted her home.
- A man suffered a knee injury after a helium tank fell from his vehicle and propelled into his knee on July 19. The man declined medical attention.
- A summons was issued to the driver of a vehicle parked in a Union Place lot without a permit on July 20.
- A North Road resident told police she saw an "outline" of what appeared to be a person around 10 p.m. July 20. Police searched the area but did not find anyone.
- The DEC on July 21 tried to trap the hawk that has been attacking people in Northport.
- Someone was issued parking tickets in Municipal Lot #2 on July 22.
- Items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Sea Cove Road on July 22.
- A woman who left her car unlocked on Sea Cove Road on July 22 told police that her car was rifled through but nothing was stolen.
- A Sea Cove Road man said his vehicle had been rifled through by a person or person(s) on the night of July 22. No items were stolen.
- A Hilton Avenue man said that between 8 p.m. July 21 and 6:30 a.m. July 22, someone opened both his car doors, the center console and glove box. Nothing was stolen from the car.
- Cases of beer were stolen from a CVS Pharmacy on Fort Salonga Road on July 22.
- A summons was issued to the driver of a vehicle that was blocking the entry of a driveway of The Clothesline Laundry on July 22.
- A teenage girl who might have overdosed was taken to Huntington Hospital on July 22. The girl was very lethargic, police said.
- A woman said she caught a parakeet in front of Salted. On The Harbor on July 23. A wildlife agency said it would pick the parakeet up the following morning.
- A man reported on July 23 an attempted theft of items from his vehicle parked on Sea Cove Road. The man said he parked his unlocked vehicle on the street in front of his house at approximately 8 p.m. on July 21. The man discovered at 9 a.m. July 22 that the center console and glove box had been opened. He said that nothing was missing or damaged but would like the incident documented.
