NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Jan. 16 through Jan. 22.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- Officers saw a man pull his vehicle in front of another man's vehicle and get out of the car, yelling at the man, on Reservoir Avenue on Jan. 16, police said. Police watched the man push down the sun visor in the other man's car, hitting him in the face, police said. Police ordered the man to get back to his car, which he did. The man told police he was mad he was "brake checked" by the other driver, and it caused his food to fall, which made him angry. The other man admitted to "brake checking" because he felt the man was too close, police said. The man did not want to pursue any charges regarding the sun visor hitting him. Police admonished both men for overreacting, and both left.

The man called Fidelity, which put a hold on his account, fixed anything that had been changed and claimed that no funds had been dispersed. The man also froze his credit and was told to contact his bank and do the same. The man did not sustain any monetary loss as of his report, police said.
