Northport Police Blotter: Person Crashes Car Into Local School
Recent arrests and incidents in the Northport Village area, including a car crash into a local school, fights between couples and more.
NORTHPORT, NY–Check out some recent arrests and incidents from the Northport Village area, from June 3 through June 9.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All incidents are merely accusations, and those accused are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.

- Justin Garner, 35, of Huntington Station, allegedly failed to appear but surrendered himself at the police headquarters on an active Northport Village warrant. He was processed and released to the court for arraignment on June 3.
- Philip Compton, 31, of East Northport, allegedly failed to appear but surrendered himself at the police headquarters on an active Northport Village warrant. He was processed and released to the court for arraignment on June 3.
- Demetrius Waller, 22, of Huntington, allegedly failed to appear. He was arrested on an active bench warrant on June 6.
Incidents
- A man was sick on Woodbine Avenue and was transported to Huntington Hospital on June 3.
- A carbon monoxide alarm went off on Main Street. The Northport Fire Department responded and deemed the alarm to be outdated and in need of replacement. The incident happened June 3.
- A man was bleeding on June Avenue and was transported to Huntington Hospital on June 3.
- Someone reported a cement truck was blocking a driveway, but the responding officer deemed it was not blocking any driveways. The incident happened on June 3.
- A drunk man needed medical attention and was transported to Huntington Hospital on June 3.
- A woman was sitting on the grass on Main Street and reportedly needed assistance, but police couldn't find her upon arrival. The incident happened on June 3.
- Police responded to Schooner Road for reports of a loud party. The officer spoke to the homeowner, who stated his daughter had just returned from her senior prom and had a few friends over. The man said he'd make sure his daughter and her friends kept the noise down. The incident happened on June 4.
- A woman was experiencing chest pains and transported to Huntington Hospital on June 4.
- Police responded to Fort Salonga Road, where a woman was following a man back and forth. The woman said she was trying to talk to her boyfriend who had left her two nights prior. The man said he didn't want to talk to his ex until later that evening or possibly the next day. No physical contact or injuries were alleged, and both the man and woman went their separate ways. The incident happened on June 4.
- A refrigerator was outside on Scudder Avenue with the doors on. Police contacted the owner, who removed the doors from the fridge on June 4.
- A police officer was parked on Scudder Avenue when another car sideswiped the car, causing minor damage on June 4.
- Northport Police responded to Laurel Road to aid Suffolk Police with people who were fighting on June 4.
- A woman fell and was injured, and then she was transported to Huntington Hospital on June 5.
- A car crashed into Laurel Avenue Junior High School, with both the car and building taking damage. The driver was brought to Huntington Hospital. The incident happened on June 5.
- A loose dog without a name tag was found on Sea Cove Road and taken to the North Shore Animal Vet by police on June 5.
- A man fainted and was brought to Saint Catherine's Hospital by Northport Rescue on June 6.
- An executive at Seymour's Boat Yard got into a verbal argument with a male customer over dock usage. The executive requested the man no longer be a customer of the business, and the man agreed. The incident happened on June 6.
- A sick woman was brought to Huntington Hospital on June 7.
- A man was having trouble breathing and was brought to Huntington Hospital on June 7.
- Police were contacted through 911 that a man was off his medications and was brought to the VA Hospital for an evaluation of his medications on June 7.
- Police were contacted about cars parked illegally on Scudder Avenue, but police found the cars to be parked legally on June 7.
- Police were notified that a blue Toyota Prius was parked in a handicap spot on Main Street without a permit, but the car was gone when police arrived. The incident happened June 8.
- At Harbor View Salon, the woman who contacted the police through 911 said she thought the subject was charging a client of her's $130 for a ride home. The subject and client both stated that the fee was $30, not $130. The woman who called 911 misinterpreted the conversation, and everyone involved was satisfied. The incident happened on June 8.
- A confused man was reportedly in the middle of the street at Steers Avenue. However, police couldn't find the man upon arrival. The incident happened on June 8.
- Police responded to a report that there were two unleashed dogs in Constitution Square, though didn't find the dogs. The person who called police said the dog owners left before police arrived. The incident happened on June 8.
- A man and wife got into a verbal argument in the street on Earl Avenue. The two were arguing in their home when police arrived. The man said his wife came home very drunk and was being very loud. Both agreed to sleep in separate rooms that night. The incident happened on June 8.
- A woman said she heard noises from a closed business on Main Street, but the screen door was left open. The incident happened on June 9.
- A man was sleeping on a bench in front of the Northport Library. When police arrived, the man wasn't sleeping, but waiting for the library to open. The incident happened on June 9.
- A bilko door was left open at a house on Beach Avenue, but police determined no one was inside and closed the door. The incident happened on June 9.
- Police responded to a report of possible people within a house on Main Street. The officer found the ground level to be secure and attempted to speak to someone at the front door, which brought negative results. Northport police headquarters was unable to re-contact the person who initially called them. The incident happened on June 9.
- A woman was suffering from a lacerated finger, but refused medical attention on June 9.
