Northport Police Blotter: Person Scammed Out Of Money
The scam involved a Northport resident purchasing Apple gift cards for a scammer, police say. ALSO: low-hanging wire, vehicle crash, more.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Nov. 28 through Dec. 4.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- A Laurel Street resident lost money to a scam involving the purchase of Apple gift cards. The resident reported the scam to police on Nov. 29.
- A person crashed a vehicle into two poles on Eatons Neck Road on Nov. 30.
- A vehicle parked in front of a Scudder Avenue driveway was issued a summons on Nov. 30.
- A Verizon wire was down on Norwood Avenue on Dec. 1. A truck driver drove under it, bringing a stop sign down as well. The Northport Highway Department was able to put the sign back up, and Verizon was notified about the wire.
- Police went to Scudder Avenue to settle an argument between two neighbors on Dec. 4. A woman told police that her neighbor has repeatedly knocked on her door and tried talking to her. Police spoke with the neighbor, who lives below the woman, and said he was trying to get the caller to stop tapping on her floor to get his attention. Police told the two neighbors to leave each other alone.
