Northport Police Blotter: Phone Scam Reported, Fire, CVS Theft
ALSO: Multiple loose dogs were found and returned to their owners, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from April 17 through April 23.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- An employee let go from Fame and Rebel in early April has yet to return her store keys to the owner as of April 17.
- A loose pit bull was retrieved by its owner on Mariners Lane on April 17.
- A Sea Cove Road resident reported a phone scam on April 18. He told police he received a phone call from someone claiming to be a New York cop and that they had the man's son in custody. The caller said the man needed to wire money to cover bail for his son. The man figured it was a scam and hung up.
- Northport police helped Suffolk police deal with an overdose on Heather Drive on April 18.
- A vehicle became disabled on Fort Salonga Road around 4 p.m. April 18. Northport police provided traffic control until a tow truck came.
- Two kids on Burr Avenue were reportedly throwing things at a vehicle. The kids told police they were just playing around with water guns and not squirting vehicles. The kids were warned and admonished.
- Northport police helped Suffolk police with a vehicle fire on New Harbor Road on April 18.
- A man fainted at Main Street Cafe on April 18. Northport Rescue brought him to Huntington Hospital.
- Some kids were asked to leave a part of the beach on Scudder Park after their fishing lines were getting blown toward someone else's boat on April 18.
- Police brought a drunken man home from Napper Tandy's on April 19.
- A German shepherd got loose in the road on Main Street on April 19. The dog was found and returned to its owner.
- A fire broke out on Locust Lane at 9:50 p.m. on April 20. Police stayed at the scene until Suffolk police and the Eatons Neck Fire Department arrived.
- An intoxicated man was taken to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue on April 21.
- A summons was issued to the driver of a vehicle that was blocking a driveway on Scudder Avenue on April 21.
- A group of teens was causing a disturbance at Sweet Arts on April 21. Police did not give any more information.
- Police found a stolen 2006 Nissan Xterra after performing an eJustice check on April 22.
- CVS Pharmacy reported a theft on April 22.
- A dog got loose on Hollacher Drive on April 23. Someone found the dog and returned it to its owner.
