NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Sept. 18 through Sept. 24.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- A woman said she lost money while at Giunta's Meat Farm on Sept. 18. She told police she put a large amount of cash into her bag at home and went to the grocery store, bought some items, and when she got back to her car, she noticed the money was missing and stated that she may have been pickpocketed inside Guinta's, police said. Officers reviewed security footage from the store's security cameras and accounted for her location the entire time she was inside the store. Police say she was not pickpocketed. The woman wanted it documented that she lost her money somewhere between home and the grocery store.

The owner said he parked his vehicle in the lot next to a grassy area around 1 a.m. and then returned at 1 p.m. to find a broken back passenger window. Police said the damage was consistent with debris thrown from a weed whacker or backpack blower which was in use earlier in the day.

- The Steers Beach entrance sign was damaged on Sept. 21.
- Police were called to Laurel Avenue School to help Northport-East Northport School District Security around 7:25 p.m. Sept. 21, as an employee said he needed help because the "residents at the meeting were becoming enraged."
