Northport Police Blotter: Vehicles Rummaged Through
Items were stolen from at least one vehicle, police say. There were four reported instances of a person or people rummaging through cars.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Oct. 3 through Oct. 9.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- A woman with an ankle injury because of a motor vehicle crash on Main Street was brought to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue on Oct. 3.
- A boat sunk on a mooring on Malcolm's Landing on Oct. 4.
- Somone reported a car crash at Northport Library where the driver left without reporting it on Oct. 4.
- A Horseshoe Drive resident reported on Oct. 5 that items had been stolen from their vehicles.
- A deer was trapped on a Stone Drive property on Oct. 5. A police officer opened the gate to the residence, and the deer ran off.
- A Horseshoe Drive resident said a person or persons on Oct. 5 rummaged through two unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway around 1:40 a.m. Nothing was taken from either vehicle. The person/people rummaging through the cars were driving a small white vehicle.
- A summons was issued to a vehicle that was past its inspection date on Oct. 5.
- A Dolphin Lane resident reported on Oct. 5 someone had been attempting to break into cars.
- A Dolphine Lane resident on Oct. 6 reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle overnight. She said her Ring camera captured someone who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and mask while entering the passenger side of her vehicle. The video did not capture the person's vehicle. Nothing was taken, and her vehicle was not damaged.
- An employee of Cork Tree Fine Wines reported that someone came in and used a fraudulent credit card on Oct. 8. He said a man came in and tried to make a large liquor purchase with a credit card that he only had a picture of on his cell phone. The card declined three times and the employee told the man the transaction would not be completed.
- A dead raccoon was removed from Fort Salonga Road on Oct. 9.
- A summons was issued to a vehicle that was illegally parked in a no-parking zone marked with zebra stripes on the asphalt.
